The Road from Newborn Photographer to Handmade Prop Vendor | Divine Props Design

If someone had told me years ago that photographers from all over the world would one day dress newborn babies in outfits handmade in my small workshop in Bulgaria, I probably wouldn't have believed them.
Like many great ideas, Divine Props Design didn't begin as a business. It started with a simple problem.
When You Can't Find What You Need
For years, I worked as a newborn photographer. Every session was carefully planned, every tiny detail mattered, and I wanted every baby to have something unique to wear.
The problem?
Most newborn outfits looked the same.
Many photographers around the world were using identical props, identical colors and identical designs. I wanted my clients to receive images that felt truly one of a kind.
So I started making my own.
At first, it was just for my own photography studio. One outfit became two. Then ten. Soon my shelves were filled with handmade newborn clothing, sleepy hats, bonnets, wraps and tiny accessories that couldn't be found anywhere else.
Other Photographers Started Asking
Clients weren't the only ones noticing.
Photographers visiting my studio began asking where I bought the outfits. When I explained that I made them myself, they wanted to buy them too.
That was the beginning of something much bigger than I had imagined.
Without any grand business plan, Divine Props Design slowly grew from a personal creative project into an international prop shop serving newborn photographers around the world.
Every Design Begins in a Photography Studio
Even today, every new product starts exactly the same way.
Inside my photography studio.
Before an outfit is ever listed in the shop, it has already been tested during real newborn sessions.
I know how fabrics behave under studio lighting.
I know which textures photograph beautifully.
I know how a romper should fit a newborn baby without creating unnecessary folds or discomfort.
I know how tiny details like button placement, sleeve length or bonnet shape can completely change the final image.
Because I still photograph newborns every week, every design is created from practical experience—not from trends.
Handmade in Small Quantities
One thing has never changed.
We don't believe in mass production.
Every outfit is handmade in our workshop in Bulgaria using carefully selected fabrics that are soft, comfortable and photograph beautifully.
Most designs are created in only one or two pieces worldwide.
Once they're gone, they're gone.
This allows photographers to offer their clients images that feel unique rather than identical to thousands of others online.
Shipping Around the World
Today, our handmade newborn props travel much farther than we ever imagined.
Our products are used by photographers across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Australia and many other countries.
Seeing our creations become part of thousands of beautiful newborn portraits is something we'll never take for granted.
Still a Photographer First
Although Divine Props Design has grown into an international brand, photography remains at the heart of everything we create.
Every outfit is designed by someone who understands newborn photography because she still lives it every single week.
Perhaps that's what makes the biggest difference.
We don't simply make newborn props.
We create products that solve real problems for newborn photographers and help them create timeless portraits that families will treasure forever.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
